Featuring a Limited Edition run of environment and 4/20 themed prints at HALF OFF for one day only (sponsored by Asheville Fine Art Printing), a legal cannabis and glassware booth by Golden Goat Gallery, a feature display of resident artist Hannah Rothstein's climate art, and live Latin reggae music by Petah Iah & The Mind Renewing Band. All geared toward raising funds for Asheville GreenWorks!
GreenWorks is an Asheville-based nonprofit devoted to taking care of our urban environment in pursuit of a healthier, more resilient future for all of us. Since 1973 they have inspired, equipped, and mobilized communities to transform concern for the environment into action. GreenWorks organizes tree planting, litter cleanup, recycling, and pollinator habitat projects, and provides environmental education across the county.
Resident Artist, and Featured Artist for the event, Hannah Rothstein focuses much of her artwork on addressing the pressing topic of climate change.
“Rothstein’s first climate-focused project, National Parks 2050, puts a spin on the classic WPA-style national parks posters, updating them to reflect a future in which climate change has run unchecked. The project went viral, and in addition to being featured widely in the press, has been published in academic journals. Since this project, Rothstein has released other climate-change works including Climate of Denial, Protect Our Parks, and 50 States of Change (created in partnership with Greenpeace USA).”
