Songwriter’s Showcase with Lucy Isabel and Owen Walsh: October 12th
from $15.00

Lucy Isabel of Nashville and Owen Walsh of Asheville will come together on Saturday, October 12th from 7-10 pm to present a memorable evening of heartfelt and engaging songwriting at Foundation Studios. In this intimate, artistic space, Lucy and Owen will transport you into the rich tapestries they’ve woven out of melody and verse. The evening will have a bit of everything, from hard-edged foot-stompers to soft, vulnerable ballads; from fantastical works of fiction to starkly honest confessionals. It’s sure to be an unforgettable celebration of folk music for modern times.

Buy a single ticket in advance for $15, or reserve a table for 4 and get a complimentary bottle of Prosecco for $80! Single tickets will be $20 at the door.

Lucy Isabel captures the essence of change in her profoundly touching new album, All The Light. There are the obvious factors: a global pandemic, political turmoil, wide-reaching tragedy. And personally, Isabel has navigated marriage, entry into motherhood, and the unexpected loss of her father. What results is a compelling and vulnerable sonic snapshot into Isabel’s life.

Following her 2019 debut album, Rambling Stranger, Isabel felt both limitless and lost. “I felt like people were aware of and interested in my career in a way they hadn’t been previously and I froze.” She turned to her usual outlet and began touring extensively. Isabel embarked on an ambitious “31 Shows in 31 Days” tour and found her footing along the way. Her confidence was short-lived, however, when the COVID-19 pandemic arrived and left everyone in fearful uncertainty.

Not one to waste time, Isabel took the opportunity to grow her family, giving birth to her first child in April 2021. “I was suddenly presented with this opportunity to be home and relax throughout my first pregnancy. It was a silver lining in a difficult time.”

All The Light leans more toward the folk side of Isabel’s folk/Americana identity. The songs are both introspective and relatable, paying due respect to the fears that form us and the freedom of letting them go.

On All The Light, Isabel reunites with Rambling Stranger producer, Jared Anderson, and the result is a stunning reflection of the growth of a professional friendship.

Owen Walsh has been telling stories and performing music his entire life. Born and raised on the banks of the Lackawaxen River in Honesdale, Pennsylvania—a small, historic coal-mining town that spawned the American railroad—Owen grew up surrounded by relics of 19th Century American life and imagery ripe for musical exploitation.

His years of formal violin and classical guitar training, zest for informal improvisation, and love of folk-lore storytelling combine to create a unique blend of musical expression. His recently released debut album, On My Way, has been met with critical acclaim and charted at #9 on Folk Radio in the second month of its release.

Owen now lives in Asheville, NC where he performs music regularly, writes for various publications and constructs crosswords in his spare time.
