This workshop explores the use of various typography and your own handwriting to create images. The images are known as "Shape Poems" or "Calligrams". We will use letters and words to create a visual image related to the meaning of the words themselves. Pictures are formed by combining and overlapping words using pencils, markers and printed letters. You will walk away with a finished Shape Poem and some interesting history about Calligrams. Bring pencil, pen, markers, scissors, glue, drawing paper, and most important imagination!
